Moments of gratitude
Some days I take things for granted and worry about little, mundane things that, in perspective, don't matter at all.
But on most days, I can't stop being grateful for everything. Almost 3 years since I took the plunge to leave the full-time job world and also the UK, which was my home for 10 years.
I’m grateful for my freelance work as a photographer and a marketing manager, the weather I'm blessed to enjoy 12 months of the year, my cats, the people I love that surround me, my clients, my friends...
And probably above all, I am thankful for my inner peace. It took me many years to feel good in my skin. To love and respect myself and to have my anxiety under control. I was afraid of hitting 30. But now that I'm nearly 31, I appreciate this decade so much. Like a good friend called it, the Wise Women's Club.
Of course, plenty of wise men too, but there is something special about women who appreciate their worth, perhaps because we're more sensitive and doubt ourselves more often. It feels incredibly empowering to reach the stage when you accept yourself despite the occasional doubts, fears and moments of overthinking. These "weaknesses" are part of you. Light cannot exist without darkness. It's part of me, part of you, part of all of us.
